Viva Pinata: Trouble in Paradise is closing in on us. In 45 days, this latest installment in the Viva franchise will be landing on store shelves awaiting your loving embrace. To celebrate its upcoming release, we’ll be taking a look at the past of the franchise each day leading up until its US, Canadian, and Latin American release on September 2nd and its European release on September 5th. So without further ado, let’s examine Day 20…
Day 20: Mallowolf Romance Dance
This Romance Dance between two Mallowolves is a bit more special than your average Romance Dance. Why? Because the two Mallowolves here are the very rare Wild Card Mallowolves. Watch the video and see if you can tell the difference between these two compared to a regular Mallowolf.
Finally! Despite Banjo recieving nothing but praise from all the hands-on impressions I have read in the past week, it unfortunately hadn’t been rated as number one and rarely made any list…until now. Gamezone has ranked Nuts & Bolts as their favorite game of e3. They even called it out as competition for Mario!
Nuts & Bolts has been hyped as many things, to the point where many gamers are under the impression that it’s not a true action/adventure. But don’t be fooled by the marketing hoopla that is merely being used to attract those who wouldn’t normally be interested in a Banjo game. Like the first Banjo-Kazooie, released a little over 10 years ago, Nuts & Bolts is every bit the game – the only game – that threatens Mario’s throne.

So without further ado, let’s examine Day 19…
Day 19: Dragonache Defeated by Roario
We’re finally caught back up as Day 19 is actually today, whereas 17 & 18 were for Sunday and Monday respectively. For today is a special video where a Dragonache actually loses a battle to the Roario! Check it out.

Day 18: Big ‘ol Bonboon
The Bonboon is one of the coolest pinata in Viva Pinata. It looks kinda weird and strange, but it has one special ability that the other pinata do not: it can stop fights. If a Bonboon pinata is in your Garden and a couple of pinata go to fighting, the Bonboon will be there to settle things down. So if you’re tired of your pinata fighting all the time, then here is how you can catch your own Bonboon.
Appear Requirements -A mininum of one Bonboon resident in the garden
Visit Requirements -A minimum of one monkeynut tree in the garden
-A minimum of one banana tree in the garden
Resident Requirements -Has eaten seven bananas
-Has eaten seven monkeynuts

Day 17: Name that Pinata 2
Make up time! I apologize as I missed the last couple of days. So I’m going to make up with all three of them today so we can get back on track. Now, it’s time for another game of ‘Name that Pinata’! Can you name the three below?
What a humdinger last week was! Our biggest week as far as news ever for Rare-Elite thanks to E3 where we learned that Rare is behind the new Avatars, and Banjo-Kazooie and Banjo-Tooie are coming to the Xbox LIVE Arcade. Exciting aye? Everything went smooth up until yesterday when the server went down for the entire day. That killed the flow of ‘64 Days of Viva Pinata’ special and is also the reason I’m posting this story now insteady of yesterday. If you weren’t here last week, then this is what you missed…
Viva Pinata: Trouble in Paradise is closing in on us. In 49 days, this latest installment in the Viva franchise will be landing on store shelves awaiting your loving embrace. To celebrate its upcoming release, we’ll be taking a look at the past of the franchise each day leading up until its US, Canadian, and Latin American release on September 2nd and its European release on September 5th. So without further ado, let’s examine Day 16…
Day 16: Cameos A- Plenty
One of the most interesting aspects of Viva Pinata is the sheer amount of cameos in the game. Rare didn’t just include a vast amount of new accessories and items, they also included many familiar objects that are reminiscent of their past games. Statues, accessories, and even a bit of gossip from Leafos where she makes mention of Grabbed by the Ghoulies. Below is a list of many of the cameo appearances:
-Banjo-Kazooie Statue
-Mumbo Jumbo Statue
-Captain Blackeye Statue
-Banjo’s Backpack
-Banjo’s Sharktooth Necklace
-Gruntilda’s Hat -Conker’s Helmet
-Grabbed by the Ghoulies Arcade
-Ortho’s Hat
-Captain Blackeye’s Hat
-Bottles’ Glasses
-Jolly Roger’s Lips
-Jiggy Earrings
-Captain Blackeye’s Sword
-Captain Blackeye’s Eyepatch
That’s just to name a few of them. There are plenty more within the game and I hope to eventually get around to providing an entire list with pictures to view as well.
Here we go. Yet more hands-on impressions of Banjo and still more to come. Here’s what Kotaku had to say…
The new Banjo Kazooie looks sharp too. It’s as bright and busy as Rare’s Kameo: Elements of Power and Viva Pinata, but far easier on the eyes. It’s dripping with impressive reflections and water effects, giving Banjo and Kazooie a hell of a visual upgrade since their last appearance.
Viva Pinata: Trouble in Paradise is closing in on us. In 50 days, this latest installment in the Viva franchise will be landing on store shelves awaiting your loving embrace. To celebrate its upcoming release, we’ll be taking a look at the past of the franchise each day leading up until its US, Canadian, and Latin American release on September 2nd and its European release on September 5th. Day 15: Pinatas of E3
As many of you may know, E3 2008 was this week and a few things surfaced in regards to Trouble in Paradise and Pocket Paradise. Today’s article in this ‘Special’ is dedicated to those entries.
I know…this update isn’t all that great. I apologize, but I am dead tired from having watched the midnight showing of The Dark Knight then going to see the 9:30 AM showing as well which required me to wake up at 6 AM this morning. After calculations, that puts me at around 2 hours of sleep in the past 48 hours. So please forgive for this poor update. I’ll have something better tomorrow after I have had a goodnight’s rest…
