July 14th, 2008 by Daniel Duncan

Yes, you read that correctly. The original Nintendo 64 classic, Banjo-Kazooie, is returning this holiday exclusively for the Xbox LIVE Arcade. The port is being handled by a third party developer and will feature enhanced visuals, achievements, and for you speedrunning enthusiasts, leaderboards. There is even talk of Stop N Swop making a come back. We’ll have more information as well as the first screens and footage as it becomes available.

UPDATE

Folks, it’s back and this time it is going to work. Stop N Swop is making its true debut on the Xbox 360 via the two new Banjo games being released this fall. By collecting the Stop N Swop items in Banjo-Kazooie Arcade, you will be able to transfer them over to Nuts & Bolts to earn special prizes. What do you think of that? :)

I almost have an heart attack when I saw this news about BK remake! I wondered why Rare allowed other third-party developer to make a remake of their game like Banjo-Kazooie?

I don’t know why Rare would let a third-party developer handle Banjo on the Live Arcade, but perhaps they have got to much going on in their offices…
