TeamXbox’s E3 Hands-On Preview of Nuts & Bolts

July 14th, 2008 by Daniel Duncan

Now that Microsoft’s E3 press conference is over, the media now have the opportunity to try the games out for themselves. TeamXbox is one of them and they have already given their hands-on impressions for Banjo-Kazooie: Nuts & Bolts. Here’s a taste of their preview:

That something new is a desire to design a platform game where the player designs their own moves. At least that’s what the developers at Rare say was one of their central concepts they wanted to explore. It’s not just the ability to jump or fly or swim, but to design your own way of doing those things in your own unique style. So what does that have to do with vehicles? Nuts and Bolts is called that because that’s exactly what you’ll be playing with, the nuts and bolts of vehicle design. The game’s garage system where you can build vehicles from scratch out of different parts like legos or from blueprints you discover around the world is so deep and customizable, that you can build soething to do just about anything. And ultimately, isn’t that more interesting than finding the jumpy boots that let you get to an area you couldn’t get to earlier?
