Rare fails to rock the 80s?

The 1980s. When gaming got its first real start with the consoles that brought video games into the homes: the NES, Spectrum ZX, Atari 2600, and the list goes on. During that decade, countless unforgettable games were released that rocked the foundation of gaming across the world. But of those countless games, which ones among them were the best? The Top 50 best? Next-gen.biz decided to take a stab at it and what they produced could be the most controversial ‘Top 50 games list’ to ever be released.
How did Rare fare? Rare’s (known as ULTIMATE: PLAY THE GAME at that particular time) Lunar Jetman ranked in at #27 followed by…nothing. That was it. Not another single Rare title was accomodated. Where is Jetpac? How about Battletoads? What of Sabrewulf?! Sesame Street 123? Okay…forget that last one. Heck, even Nintendo’s Super Mario Bros., the best selling video game of all-time, failed to be mentioned. Whilst I can’t speak for the rest of you, I would think the above games deserve some place on that list. Next-gen had best have their battle armor donned, as there will be some mighty displeased Rare and Nintendo fans out there who will not take this lightly, opinion or not.
What are your thoughts? Any other Rare games from the 80s you believe are worthy of being listed?

Leaving out things like Jetpac and Super Mario Bros. makes me question the credibility of the people who compiled the list. I mean, there could have [obviously] been much more research performed…
