IGN Interview with Grant Kirkhope
September 3rd, 2008 by Daniel Duncan
Portion of an interview with ex-Rare musician Grant Kirkhope below…
“I remember playing in Elgar’s Cockaigne Overture and Enigma Variations, Walton’s Crown Imperial and Delius’ La Calinda and being amazed by the melodic content in the pieces – those times for me were amazing,” he says. “I really developed a love of that English-sounding music. Later I discovered Vaughan Williams and adored his works, especially his 5th Symphony. The Sibelius symphonies as well were very influential on me. Of course when I wasn’t playing in orchestra I was playing metal!”
